Quality Technician vacancy

The incumbent will support production on all areas of the production process from start to finish by doing product measurement, including overseeing goods in receiving and dispatch. This is a combined role wherein the incumbent have ‘cradle to grave’ responsibility for a specific product group(s) and will become the specialist for their specific product area, with an in-depth understanding of the full process.

• Application of Quality Management Systems. Strong on root cause analysis and corrective actions application.
• Assure compliance with quality standards, specifications, and engineering drawings.
• Coordinate calibration of gauges and measurement devices.
• Operating the 3D Scanning Machine.
• Develop and adhere to quality control objectives while aligning them with production procedures and aligning with Quality management systems requirements.
• Work closely with production and quality inspectors in conducting MSA Study (Plan, Conduct and Train Appraisers).
• Investigate deviations, customer complaints and implement corrective measures by working with both customers and suppliers.
• Conduct LPA, Product, System and Process audits.

• Exceptional knowledge in measuring products with calipers, gauges, or micrometers and application of MSA / SPC principles including calibration.
• Strong and good history of working in changing team dynamics.
• Computer literacy – MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Ability to work on own initiative with a pro-active strategic approach to challenges.
• Strong interpersonal skills (Ability to work with people from diverse cultural mix).

• APQP and PPAP experience.
• Ability to Overtime as and when required.

• Post matric qualification in Quality Management, Engineering or Technical qualification in Metrology.
• Trained on IATF 16949:2016, Core Tools, ISO19011.
• 3 - 5 years’ experience in an automotive manufacturing industry with lab experience.
